The Bologna-IN Project

This project is about providing a platform for a debate and discussion on the policies related to internationalization of higher education. It is focused on the information and dissemination activities related to Bologna process which has set in a new wave of internationalization in European countries by bringing in harmonization.

It would promote the diffusion of EU Higher Education policy in India through multidisciplinary and innovative activities and methodologies such as interactive workshops, website and international conferences. It will also emphasize on enhancing internationalization of Indian academic systems and increase awareness about EU integration process.

Objectives
  • To promote the diffusion of EU Higher Education policy in India through multidisciplinary and innovative activities and methodologies;
  • To enhance internationalization of Indian academic systems and increase awareness about EU integration process;
  • To train young Indian academics and administrative staff;
  • To involve Indian public stakeholders, policy makers and education experts from civil society;
  • To create a web-portal to disseminate the Bologna process in India using Open Educational Resources
  • Positively influence the relation between EU and India with a focus on educational policies
 Planned Activities and milestones
  • International Conference – A gathering of academicians, vice chancellors, policy-makers, civil society organization, Jean Monnet beneficiaries at the International Conference
  • Workshops – Spread information with two complementary workshops
  • Booklets – Two dissemination booklets on EU Higher Education policy
  • Website – Launching of the informative and consultancy website www.bolognaproject.in
Expected Impact
  • Contribute to the implementation of the EU-India Joint Action Plan;
  • Provide visibility to the EU Higher Education policy in India: discussion on Bologna process at regional/national level with academic and political decision-makers
  • Promote the recognition of ECTS within the Indian academic environment and increase the applications of Indian Higher Education Institutions for EU mobility projects
